IEP went wellish!

Well we had the last IEP meeting of the year and sort of got what we wanted. Liam qualifies for speech, 60 mins a week, all pragmatic stuff but desperatrely needed. OT was a bummer as even though he quaifies she only recommended 30 mins consult a month; not sure what more she can consult on as Liam is in a self contained autism classroom; sensory rules the roost there. At least now I know to add in OT privately too. We had the same issue with Cian....kind of qualifies but...not!
We all agreed extended school year isn't beneficial for now. Liam is making progress and isn't regressing after breaks. ESY would mean a new teacher, classroom kids etc and just for 4 weeks half day, it'd do more harm than good I think. Also means we can organize summer better now camp etc.
They also suggested with the dx and now qualifying for OT and speech we might be able to get a medicaid waver; this would be awesome as it'd cover private OT as well as respite care......man we all need some respite, lol!
