Poor Vic. First last week his fish died, then this week, while out walking with the neighbor and her dog, two dogs come barrelling out of their house and start attacking this little dog. THANK GOD, I was with them. I picked up the little dog and shoved Lil Vic behind me. What's funny is the neighbors were right after there dogs so there are 4 adults screaming NO at these silly critters.

After all is said and done, Vic is mad at me. LOL. He said I was abusing the three dogs because I snatched the little dog up by the collar and couldn't get an arm under him for a bit so he was choking, and I kicked the big dog that jumped me trying to get the little dog. Bless his heart, we (as a group) got jumped by these dogs and he's mad at me for protecting him.

We did use this time to go over what to do if a dog comes up while he's alone with the neighbor's dog, what to do while he's alone without the dog, etc...

Victor has decided he doesn't want a dog at all now. He didn't realize dogs could get that mean. All I can say is thank goodness for pudding. I made pudding for dessert and voila, I'm in good graces again.

Awe poor dude!

I know the feeling from the other end. I have 2 big dogs. They are not mean at all. In fact my one dog doesn't have a mean bone in his body and is afraid of the cat. My other dog is sweet but she is an alfa dog. We have had the situation when she was younger where she would go barrelling out of the house and get all scary at someone walking up the street with a dog. She never hurt anyone and has never bit anyone but she can bark pretty darn scary.

We have had refence the backyard so she can sneak to the front and are neurotic about shutting the front and garage doors. Plus we trained her not to run out anymore. Which she doesn't but I still don't totally trust her not too.

HOwever, the time the scary salesman came to the front and she jumped the back fence to "greet" him. Well I was GLAD she can look a bit scary! I didn't tell him that she doesn't bite.

At anyrate, Gracie will look big and scary but she really isn't. She is a protective dog of her kidlets and yard. So if she sees strangers (particularly men) or strange dogs she does get big and scary but it is just because she is being a mama bear. Not a bad thing now that kids are getting old enough to stay home alone for short periods of time.

I also trust her completely with the kids. She is aussie shep/ golden retriever mix. So has that protective shepard thing along with goofy sweet retriever thing going on.

She will nip at the kids heels to herd them if they are playing to hyper though. They just play with her too then.
