Tonite for the first time I gave Christopher .5mg's of Risperedal (sp?). Tell me this was the right thing to do guys????

I saw a pys last week and was supposed to start last friday but I held off till tonite since he had his last assessment with the school today. It was with a OT and I didn't want drugs to interfere with his test scores.

Nicholas might be next, as he head butted me today and gave me a nose bleed.

This anti-pyscotic makes me feel so nervous!

Lainie,

I know alot of kids that have been helped by it too. It can be a life saver or at least get enough control to where Chris can start learning some skills to control his behavior. It didn't work for us but the majority of folks I know it did work well for. It would be nice for you to have some peace in your house.

Thanks, it just makes me so nervous. And Chris really resisted taking it, but we got him to do it. He has this thing about pill taking, even thou he was fine with the melatonin. Its not that he can't swallow it, its just that it was like he was scared of it.

This psy said, Of course he has autism, you know, I know. So I am going to give him a drug thats for autistics.

Gee, if only he could actually give me a actual dx ya know?????

Okay let me ask. We gave it to him an hour ago and he's still holding out playing on his guitar hero.

Doesn't it make them really really sleepy?

I got him to sit on his bed (you can't break him when he's perservering, which he is doing now, cuz it won't work, and you will get a meltdown.)
