I'm still here

Hello all,

I'm still around and feeling better. My husband thinks I was having a bad allergic reaction to something and that was causing all the weird symptoms. We have no idea what the reactions were from but it seems to be going away, thank goodness.

I haven't been doing a whole lot. I did go to my state's homeschooling convention and had a really good time. I also spent a whole lot of money too. I got bugs a therapy program called the learning connection. Has anyone heard of this? If works on the visual processing. It is supposed to help a multitude of issues including attention, reading and writing problems. You do it at home over a period of three to four months, then once a week maintence routine.

I am also still working on getting him into the listening therapy program (tomatis). The insurance, it seems, is not going for it. Soooo, unfortunately, we are going to have to find a way to pay for this as well. This therapy works on a multitude of things as well. I am hoping that this really helps us with a number of things. Many of the professionals keep recommending medication for my now six year old and I don't think that is the solution for us.

Well, magic school bus is over and I need to get bugsy some breakfast.

Hi Bugs, glad to hear you're feeling better. I was just starting to get worried about you since I hadn't seen you on either board for a while and you had said you were sick before. There are lots of things that bloom only durring the earliest parts of spring that might have caused your reactions. There are a few molds and fungi that only spore durring April and May that can cause some pretty bad reactions.

Okay, I'm jealous, you got to go to the hs convention and I didn't. LOL, oh well. I was busy with the baby, haven't gotten to go many places at all lately. I'm glad you had fun, you deserve it.

So, does this mean we're going to see more of you? (wink wink). Glad you're back.

Thanks for the reply Candes, always glad to know that I'm missed ;) Before I came down with whatever I had I ALWAYS checked this board. Its my lifeline most of the time. I am hoping to have time to get to read some more posts, I am so far behind and there are a lot more people here too. But with everything I'm doing its hard to get my computer fix in sometimes. I'm going to try and keep up with it, helps my sanity most days.

Thanks for the note

BTW, our convention was a blast. I'm going again next year. You should make your plans now!

ACH. I know I posted a reply earlier, and just realized it wasn't here.

It is really good to see you. I hope you are feeling better. Hope to see you around more too. I have been looking into tomatis, fast forward and the theraputic listening program. I think they would be benificial, but unfortunately can't get it paid for. As for paying privately, I can't afford it as it isn't just now the top of my agenda. Do you find that there are so many things to pay for privately that you have to choose which ones are most important and hope you aren't missing something important with the others?

Again good to see you.
