Sometimes, Euan makes it very clear how much effort he has to put in to tolerating us poor mortal normal-IQ NTs....!!!!

We've been discussing enrolling him in a sports club for a while - his NT brother is going to start a mixed after school club (taster sessions of ball games, catching games, etc, before they start soccer, rugby, hockey etc properly) and there is a follow-on class with basketball, hockey and rugby sessions afterwards for Euan's age group. He hates soccer, the one sport that every boy in the UK is supposed to play, but I thought this might give him a chance to try some other sports, make some friends, etc....anyway, this being Euan of course I had to research it all thoroughly, phone the sports coaches and get all the details I could, so I could discuss it with him in great detail before we made a decision. I found out there is a local sports club for disabled kids which he would be eligible to join, but I was discussing it with him and I made the mistake of saying 'The thing is, physically there's no reason why you can't play sports with non-disabled kids, you aren't in a wheelchair or anything' and he looked at me and said 'What about mentally? How will the non-disabled kids cope with the fact that I am so much smarter than them?'''

!!!

One day he is *seriously* going to get his head flushed down the toilet at school, I just know it!!!

*sigh* he's a good kid, really. Just sometimes when I am trying to help him make, and keep, friends, I think, well, I am not sure *I* would want to be his friend!!

At least you know you don't have to worry about his self-esteem! How nice that he's such a confident kid! (I hope getting his head flushed in the toilet doesn't become a true concern. If he says it with enough charm, he'll probably still be able to get away with it!)
