I'm not promoting this in any way, shape, or form...but the research would sure be interesting. Thoughts???

prior to 1937 Cannabis was the third-most doctor-prescribed drug in the US, after Aspirin and Morphine.
Then WR Herst and a few of his cronies went on a huge PR campaign against the "evil weed marijuana". The AMA weighed in on this because nobody told them that the "evil weed marijuana" was another name for the perfectly legitimate drug "cannabis" They only foudn out a few days before the vote -too late to withdraw their backing, although the head of the AMA made a valient effort in the house hearings.
it's all documented.
Now I am not pro-marijuana per se, but I am pro-research and it does contain several compounds that are show a lot of promise in different medical fiends. I also find the backstory fascinating. (Did you know the US government holds several patents on medical uses of Cannabis?)
This mom may well be ahead of her time. Just saying...

OK just lost my entire post explaining this better but to put it simply, I am all for it. In fact I would be all for the legalization of marijuana in general. I don't see how it is that different than alcohol or smoking. It should be regulated. You need to be responsible about it. (I don't smoke, do enjoy wine and beer in moderation).
Honestly, Marijuana is more researched as far as side effects (and likely milder) than most of the newer class massively strong medications that are regularly perscribed off label for our kids. I KNOW it is WAY milder than some of the meds or med combos Mike has taken in the past and those never helped him. Canibis actually might help.
If I had the guts and funds to find a doctor I would SO get him a scrip and break out my green thumb in a heart beat.
The timing of this is funny as I was having a conversation with a friend of mine who loves pot and he was wondering if pot would help ds with some of his anxiety and sensory overreactions. I said I thought it could go both ways, as pot can make some people paranoid, but I could also see where it sure might help.
I would love to see more research myself. If they can give our kids anti-psychotics, after all...
