I have to start by saying that I'm just losing it here.

First of all, welcome to the board! I am glad you found us. It sounds like you are going through a lot right now, we do relate, and we can help.

I am Paula and this board was a lifesaver for me about 5 years ago, when my own son was 4-ish and I came out of denial about his special needs. I was on an awful rollercoaster at the time, and the women here supported me and answer a lot of questions.

Pete is 9½ now and doing wonderfully, albeit with a lot of supports (so what? "wonderfully is the key word there).

You are fortunate (maybe) that you joined on a chat night. We have chat on Saturdays and Thursdays at 10pm EST. I have been having computer and health problems, so I don't know if I can join or not, but I will try. Certainly you don't need me to be there to be made welcome.

Welcome!

This is a very supportive place packed with people who "get it" about special needs kids, and dealing with schools, evaluators, relatives and more.

Its a great place for a cry, a laugh, or practical advice.

Hope to see you around.
