It gets better! (grade thingie)

Todays email confirmed that I was right about Cait's grade on the poster project. It also stated that now her grade for that class is an F. Cait also failed a quiz she took that was graded yesterday.
Here is the quote
"Yes, you were correct, the grade was a 21. That brings Cait's grade
down to an F at the moment. She'll really need to focus on her quizzes
and homework in order to bring her grade up. I'm going to discuss this
again with her today."
SHE'LL really need to focus on her quizzes and homework in order to bring her grade up!
Are they never going to get it?
OY!

However, like I mentioned somewhere but don't remember now if it was here, they are trained in AS and know all the right buzz words and such but they actually don't totally comprehend it.
I even have moments where though I know the info I missread a situation or don't get it right away. But here they just really seem to not get it on a regular basis.
Her teacher will say "this is totally a case of poor executive function and Cait needs support in that" and then say "she did poorly because she didn't try or didn't accept our help". They will say on the one hand that they are providing all these great supports but then it's Cait's fault for it not working. If there supports aren't working then they aren't the right supports. They think she isn't trying but I know my Cait and I can tell when she is trying and when she isn't. I fully agree that she likes to escape non-preferred activities but with the right support and structure she does it without a hitch.
Just this morning the girl worked her TUSH off at home doing chores she didn't want to do, but with our marble program, structured written lists, and a little understanding of how to give her directions and how she thinks, she worked for 2 hours straight as a pleasant wonderful helper. She is a great kid and a hard worker. I totally am in awe with how hard she tries and what she does daily with the obstacles she has to overcome.
IEP's and programs aren't supposed to be where a kid has to work to fit a program a program should fit the child.
Thanks for letting me vent AGAIN.
