She had lots of fun infact! Very nice for a change. She got a lot of the things she wanted....MaryKate and Ashley clothes, CD player for her headboard, choker necklaces, new hair straightening iron, lip-glosses, Chamber of Secrets DVD, a goldfish (that she promptly named Europa), a new 2 year subscription to Cosmology Magazine b/c her old one is about to run out, and photos of Jupiter. All the girls got grab bags that contained markers, drawing paper, Harry Potty wands, Harry Potter rubber stamps, and poppers.
We refilled our helium tank and had balloon races, during which Jade saw fit to explain to her sisters (once again) why different balloons went different directions, why some suddenly shot higher than others, while others seemed to slink along the treetops and never really went anywhere. LOL. The older girls were pretty patient with her 'little professor’ ness until she started critiquing Sammi on her Popper throwing technique. So, while Sam was off climbing a tree (literally) to get away from our little-miss-know-it-all Jade turned her attention to how DH was feeding the baby her dutch apple dessert. Here is where DH decided to suggests a new science experiment....how many helium filled balloons does it take to lift a 9yo girl off the ground. LOL, they didn't actually do that, but it got the point across to jade that she was being annoying.
So after the pizza, cake, presents, and games we ended up watching the Chamber of Secrets...again. Did I mention she got the DVD b/c Eva had tried to use her last copy of it as a doorstop? Yup. Sigh. So after that Sam was in a frenzy b/c she thought she was missing that Neffertiti (sp?) thing on Discover Channel. Turned out she wasn't, they were showing 'Hunting Sadam' while we were watching the movie, so Sam calmed down.
All in all it was a pretty good day for her. Today we are just having a special breakfast. I asked Jade if she wanted to take the day off school but she not only said no, she said she wanted to do some extra stuff too. LOL. So, in addition to writing, algebra, western civ, and tactile crafts, today we will also be getting a jump start on Hispanic Heritage, and Spanish, which we were planning on starting next month when A&E/History Channel is doing it on Cable in the Classroom.
