My name is Amy and I'm 32 yrs old.(I hate admitting that) My dh is Coult and we have two beautiful daughters, Natalie is 10 yrs old and is NT, and Lily is 4.5 yrs old and has pdd-nos and Sensenbrenner Syndrome. We live in Central Texas. Let's see, my favorite thing to do away from PDD/AS would have to be reading. I know that may sound lame, but it allows me to escape reality for awhile, kwim? I think my favorite thing to do with Lily would be playing Uno Attack. She really loves that game and it's cute to watch how she likes to get as many cards as possible and squeals with delight when all the cards come shooting out. It's also been great to help her learn her numbers.

Hi!
Christine here from NE Ohio (about 45 minutes South of Cleveland, no jokes :)~..., soon to be 38, not too thrilled about rounding the corner to 40. Married to Mike for 6 years. Nick is my sunshine, he turned 5 in June, dx'd Asperger's, ADHD, social anxiety with some OCD to boot. I love to garden and dig in the dirt. Nick and I do this together, but I love it on my own as well, I grow alot from seed, flowers and veggies. I also like to scrapbook, although nothing fancy. I read alot and do crossword puzzles. Love to go dancing and cook too.

With Nick, we love Monster trucks, demolition derby and tractor pulls, yeah, I can hang with the boys... :)..oh, and can't forget Nascar!

My name is Brook and I'm 27. Emma is 5.5 and will be starting Kindergarten in the fall. No official dx but psychatrist agrees Asperger's fits. I'm a social worker by trade, I can come up with ideas for other peoples kids, but can be super clueless when it comes to my own. We live in the Kansas City Metro area. I'm a huge live music fan. I try to go to every rock concert that comes through town, though it's getting more and more expensive. Birthday: April 5th.

Hi, I'm Lainie, married to Tony for the last 13 yrs. I'm 42. Birthdate Oct 2nd, 1964.

I have a dd whose 20 (married and has a gorgeous 2 yr old, he makes me melt!). She had a previous dx of borderline personality disorder when she was 5, but somehow, as the years have gone by, I think she was mis-dx'd. I don't know with what, but not BPD. She did at the time have alot of Autistic traits, but had alot of play therapy and it seemed to help her tremondously. She's doing great now :)

I have an 11 yr old who was dx-d last month with ASD by his Psyciatrist. We are waiting now for results from the testing from the Regional Center to see if he qualifies for services.

My youngest is 7. He was dx-d last month with Tourettes Syndrome with an accompanying dx of ASD. He will be next to go for testing at the REgional Center.

What do I like to do? Hmmmmm, lately I haven't had a moment to do or even think about anything else lol. Sometimes I swear I talk about all of this stuff in my sleep lol. Hopefully soon when life lets me catch a breath, I can figure that one out more...

Hi I'm Nora from Pittsburgh Pa
I am 32 shy of 33 on August 22nd. I don't fear getting older, just getting better with age. My husband is Tony and we have been married 7 yrs this year.

My son Adam (who just turned 4) is who brings me here. He was dx'd with PDD April 2006.

He is a funny little guy who's smile will melt the coldest hearts.
Right now we are recovering from our CARZ birthday party and I am basking in the glow of success.

I love this board, it's my place to go when life gets hairy OR it's a place to put my 2 cents.

I'm Amy- and I've been around "here" almost as long as Candes, Renee and Paula! :-)

I'm in my 30's and we'll leave it at that. My DH is Marc (undiagnosed but self-admitted Aspie), we'll be celebrating 14 years of marriage next month. And to think, my MIL was convinced we'd never last 2 years!

We have three kids...

Noah is 10 Dx'd Asperger's. He's the one who originally brought me here way back when.

Emma is 8 and she's our NT. Every day she amazes me more and more. She's gorgeous, smart, and has a better head on her shoulder than most 38 year olds I've met!

Claire will be 7 next month, Dx'd Autism. She falls somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. We've had several difficult months with Claire- which is the reason for my recent absenteeism. But that's a story for another thread.

What do I like to do? I read almost non-stop, have scrapbooked for years (but less often than I used to), play golf (once in a while), rent tons of movies (Indie flicks mostly)and consider myself a walking oxymoron as I'm a NASCAR lovin' thespian! I've been doing theatre for 23 years now- and it will always be my first love. Of course, I don't get to opportunity to pursue it the way I used to, but when something comes up that I've "always wanted to do", I do my best to make time.

Hi. I'm Debbie and probably the oldest one here, at age 46. Where are all the older women? LOL. I was born May 6 and live in SE PA. My DH is 51 and DD (my one and only) is 9. Stephanie has epilepsy, PDD-NOS, Asperger's, ADHD and anxiety issues.

Stephanie likes to ride her scooter and I like to walk briskly with her. It is great exercise and a chance to get outdoors. Indoors we watch the Disney channel together and play games, especially computer games like "The Game of Life." Oh, and we also do aerobics together.

Alone I love to read, read, read, especially on the computer. I love working on the computer. I also like watching TV, movies, and napping :)

Hi all, Betsy here w/ DH Michael of 17 years. Now living in the midlands of South Carolina.

My middle child, Weston, brings me here. He's now 10, will be 11 in August. I originally thought(5 years ago) he was AS or PDD-NOS but his final Dx(which just came 2yrs ago) is autism. His official report says he's "moderate to severely effected but high functioning". With lots of therapy he's come a long way. He is very smart esp in math.

I have 4 other children:
Warren, 15, Dx ADD with LOTS of aspie characteristics but the most respectful and caring teen boy I've ever known. Very smart but lots of issues w/ organization.

Amelia, 13, NT, a teen girl w/ attitude but growing up quite nicely inspite of herself and her mother. She's tall, thin, blond and beautiful. A fairly serious ballet student.

Martha, 8, dyslexia & anxiety, a smart, caring, needy child. She is Weston's polar opposite in everything. he was reading at age 4, she's still trying to learn. He seems very aloof, has 'flat affect', she is very animated, every feeling shows on her face. He's precocious academically, she is slow and nervous. She knows what everyone is feeling in the family, picks up on ALL the social cues and nuisances, he gets none of them. He's immature, she's mature beyond her years.

Owen, 5, doesn't have a Dx but we & the Dr have thought he is probably ADHD. He'll start kindergarten in the fall.

My favorite thing away from ASD: gardening (I will disappear outside to play in the dirt when I need a break from mommyhood), baking/cooking, reading (but I'm always loosing my book-- currently I'm looking for the book I was reading and saw last sometime on Saturday morning-- anybody seen it?)

Bonus: my birthday is May 24, 1967, I turned 40 in May and found that it was great, liberating. However, I swear my body is falling apart, I need a new one-- too bad I can't get a body transplant.

Hi, I'm Sara and I am older than Debbie and just had a milestone birthday, although I am choosing to ignore it. So that means that maybe I am the oldest here... My dh is younger at 42 years old and we've been married over 12 years, known each other alot longer. We live in new York City on the Upper West Side very close to Central Park and also have a vacation house we own with a friend out in Poconos of PA.

Malcolm just turned 10 and has PDD-NOS, although it is getting time for another round of testing and this time we will likely go to another neuropsych just to get another opinion. But as I have always said, that part of him that is on the spectrum can give him alot of trouble, so he definitely needs the dx. We go on lots of outings with his friends and their parents, beach, movies, playgrounds, theatre and concerts, weekend sleepovers at our PA house. Because we homeschool, I also do enjoy working with him on projects, reading together, having in-depth discussion on a variety of subjects.

Like Amy, theatre and acting was my life passion, I worked as an actress and producer for most of my grownup life, but now with Malcolm's amazing expenses, I needed to make ALOT more money than theatre --- so, I have greatly expanded my backup fitness career as a personal trainer and aerobics instructor, which pays very well here in short amount of time. And this means almost no theatre work except occasionally as a consultant.

And I also have no time for much of anything I really like on my own. This summer, while Malcolm is enjoying a wonderful summer camp all day long, I am working on all the house projects I have been putting off for the last 4 years... OK, this board and talking on the phone, gab gab gab, also hanging out with my cute husband and seeing movies, eating yummy food, SLEEPING!

I'm Debbie, and I'm 30. I've got no problems admitting that....as I've gotten older, I've "left behind" several friends who never got to be 30, so I'm proud to wear that for them! :)

I'm a single mom to Isaac, who is 6 years old.
