Hi everyone! I'm Patty 39 married to John 41 for 10 years. My DD Abby is 4 and was dx'd with PDD-NOS a few months ago. We live in Boston. Since it is a recent diagnoses my spare time is spent mostly on reading what I can about PDD, or talking to people about it. We are really struggling about what to do w/ Abby in September so this has been our focus for months. We also both work full time so our weekends are filled with activites with Abby including swimming, playground fun and picnics at the park, etc.

Hi, I'm Melissa, married to DH for 13 years. We live in Northern New Jersey where taxes are insanely high, but we both grew up here and are too close to our families to consider moving (plus who would watch the kids?).

Speaking of kids, I have four:

Andrew (8.5) who has AS brings me here. He is smart as a whip, charming when he wants to be, and loves to read, cuddle and have tickle fights. He struggles with anger/rage when the world doesn't work according to his plan.

Jacob (6.5) is caring, responsible, organized and very particular (OCD-like at times). He is my second pair of hands, someone on whom I can always depend.

Abbey (2.5) is precocious, energetic and loves life. She has a killer smile and lovely golden curley hair (which I LOVE to play with when she lets me).

Sarah (16 months) is adorable, cuddley and easy-going... all is right with the world as long as she has her blankie and her thumb.

When I get free time, I use it for catching up with friends, reading, surfing the web or weeding my garden. Lately, I've been trying to declutter the house and get organized - a monumental task. Late at night I love to watch TV and eat icecream.

I'm Candes, in AZ, with DH Craig (AS), and DDs: Carina 21yo (NT), Ayla 16yo(AS), Samm 15yo(ADHD-C), Jade 12yo(HFA, TS, MMR, and a slue of other things), Eva 7yo(AS), and Angel (NT, but orthopedically disabled).

Favorite thing to do? You mean like hobbies? Can't say that I have any. That would be something I don't get paid to do... Oh! I'm the president and publisher of APOV on Autism.... wait, that has to do with PPD/AS. I don't get paid for it though, does it still count? And, if we're counting things we do get paid for, then I would have to say my

I'm Valerie in Upstate NY. Born April 21, 1977.

Mom to Matty who turned 5 yesterday (ASD) and Austin 4 (PDD). I am divorced and seeing a great guy for almost a year. He has two kids ages 6 and 8, and since we live together, it's almost like I have 4 kids.

For my 30th birthday that just passed, I got a tattoo!! In my spare time, I love to spend time with my bf just relaxing on the couch when there are no kids around.

Anyone else around upstate? ~Valerie

Hi Sara. You have me beat. So we two are the oldest ones here ;)

IKWYM about ignoring it. I would feel better if my health was better, but I am exercising more so that should help.

The theater work sounds exciting. I don't work in theater like you and Amy, but I do love the theater. Our homeschool group goes to all the local plays and musicals and I see as many high school ones as I can. I would love to see one in NYC. The last big one was saw was CATS at a dinner theater in Lancaster, PA. I probably love watching them because I am creative or artistic and that is the opposite of me (clerical and black and white) so watching musicals are relaxing to me.

Your Poconos house sounds great. My dad and mom honeymooned in the Poconos.

Take care.

Chrystee (32) wife to Casey (38) mom to Sam (AS, 8) and Harrison (NT so far, 2) We live in MA.

I'm an artist but don't have much time to paint lately. I'm trying to beef up my portfolio to get some freelance illustration jobs so I can quit my crappy weekend/night job. I love making things out of recycled fabric - usually handbags and I'm a pretty voracious knitter. I cannot wait until the new Harry Potter book is out!!!!!

My b-day is Aug. 16th - same day as Madonna.....and also Frank AND Kathylee Gifford......sigh

I'm Hattie and I'm 32-years-old and live in Northern California. Been married to dh for 5 years and we have two children

Ethan (6.5 years-old) dx aspergers or high functioning autism. Some days he can pass for normal playing with kids, engaging, seeming normal. These days are rare, but very memorable. Other times he is socially adversive, really shy, goofy and a bit odd. But always a sweet, sensitive soul. My sweet boy.

Alex (4 yr old, NT girl with anxiety) Precocious, energetic, a bit frantic at times and anxiety but quite socially capable and hopelessly in love with her big brother.

Also expecting another one in Feb 08'. Envisioning a healthy, calm and peaceful baby, a buddha baby.

In my own time, I like to exercise, go out to eat with friends, read and sleep. Red wine too, but not right now.

Hi, I'm Robin. My dh is Glen. My kids are Henry--age 7 with as-yet undx AS--and Mark who turned two last Thursday.

We live in a suburb of Memphis, TN. I am mostly a sahm but I substitute teach at my church's Mothers' Day Out program whenever needed.

This summer has been crazy, so I haven't been doing much but taking the kids various places to occupy their time and trying to keep them from fighting with each other. My favorite thing to do is go shopping BY MYSELF.
