I posted last week about the chance of my ds16 working in the high school martial arts club with a teen with Aspergers. The boy was at class last night and the instructor had Jason stand with him and help him. Jason said he was working hard and paying attention. He had a hard time initially with some of the kicks as he was getting his left and right mixed up but once Jason demonstrated and helped him a bit he was able to get some of it down quite well. Jason even said this boy has quite an 'awesome' crescent kick! They didn't really get a chance to talk much as the instructor didn't pair them up til toward the end of class but it seemed to work out well for the first time. I may be back with other questions if Jason continues to work with him.

Thank you for your responses to my questions in my earlier post.

Pam, it's good to hear that things are going well for Jason and his classmate. Your ds is an awesome young man for helping out! And so are you for helping by educating yourself. I so wish there were more people in the world like you and your son! You will ALWAYS be welcome here. :) And please, keep us updated on how things are going.

Peace,

Candes

I just wanted to say that I hope that my son has people in his life outside of home that really care about his well being and are willing to do research to help him like you have.:D. What great people you and your son are!
