"Just use some common sense"

We were at the store the other day and happened to walk by this woman telling this to her son. The phrase just stuck with me. I mean it made me laugh. Now there's a phrase...I WON'T be using with Nathan!!! LOL
I realized that I have NEVER said that...and probably never will either!! LOL Could you imagine the look on your child's face if you were to say this to them?? I think Nathan would be frozen, eyebrows all crinkled up, trying to respond to a question that he could not comprehend.
It just made me laugh...so I thought I'd share!

Michelle,
I had to laugh reading you post. It resonated with me for the wrong reasons: I was told this ALL THE TIME (pardon) as a child. It confused the heck out of me:
First of all 'common' was the derogotorary term used for "working class" (another derog. term, but don't get me started on that).
And 'sense'... What was THAT?
So I didn't understand how I was supposed to should avoid the 'common' kids at the park, as instructed, but somehow emulate their "sense".
yep. I never use that expression..
(lol)
