Karate-take two!

So Liam's classmate (moderate- severe autie, partially verbal) actually has his camouflage belt in Tae Kwon Do (sp) and his whole family are HUGE TKDO people.

Hope it works well for you.
We are on try #3 with karate and finally I think this one is actually a keeper. The instructor has his downfalls but his wife appears to be CP and he is ok with disabilities. Once I told him about Mike and Dave he has been very understanding.
Tonight Mike was WAYYYYYYY off but that isn't surprising considering his week and it was sparring night. At one point the sensei just sat him away from all the other kids. (He wouldn't keep his hands to himself despite numerous reminders. Mostly just touching). But he did it in a neutral manner and Mike pulled it together for a few.
However, even in Karate my boy has made tremendous improvement. He did not scream at the others who hit him tonight. In regular classes he pays attention and blends in rather well. He follows the structure and routine of the class well. And his form is actually pretty darn good!
We tried TKD at 4, karate at 7-8 (for 4 months while he turned 8) and then this one again at 10. It took until this time and mostly I think it was an understanding sensei but he has been officially at it for over a year this time.
