I just got done reading the posts about the Dr. Phil show yesterday. Unfortunately I missed the Dr. Phil episode. But now maybe I'm glad I didn't see it.
Did anyone here see Boston Legal last night? This is a show that I have never watched before but decided to watch last night because I saw that Michael J. Fox was going to be on the show. I did miss the beginning of the show but apparently it was about a Lawyer who had worked for a firm for 15 years and was never offered partnership after being told all those years to keep working hard and he would be made a partner. Well apparently he snapped when he was told he would never be made a partner and threatened his boss with a knife. Well, during the trial it was discovered that he had Asperger's Syndrome and he was aquited because he couldn't control his actions since he has this disorder. I have an 8 year old who was diagnosed with AS last year and my first reaction was "good they have someone who has AS on this show, how neat." But then I started thinking that everyone who watches this show and isn't familiar with AS is going to think that everyone with AS is violent. Then I was just angry. I understand that this was just one person and that some people with AS could be violent but I was unhappy with the way it was portrayed.
I am going to try to catch the Dr. Phil show next week. All of the episodes are on a week later at 10pm where I live.

What? No flaming about this show? We keeping it all for Phil?
I didn't see it personally so I really have no comment on the matter other than I have never seen the portrayal of an Aspie on primetime telivision done accurately anyway.
Still want to see mozart and the whale, but I hear even that isn't that great.
