Do you ever wonder if any of your children's issues are a result of lead exposure?

My son (AS, 6) tested high for heavy metals in his system-aresenic, mercury, and lead. We are going to start the chelation process under the direction of a developmental pediatrician. It involves putting DMSA cream on the body to pull out the metals and taking supplements. It should take 6-12 months. It is very confusing. The DMSA cream is 3 days on and then 11 days off. I will need to keep a calendar to keep track of this.

My son has always liked to suck on metal objects, like a key chain, which I would then remove. The test was a urine test called a Porphyrin Profile. I had to overnight the urine sample to Metametrix Lab and the test cost $158. I will let you all know how the chelation process goes. Wish us luck!

We are having our son tested for heavy metals as well as nutritional deficiencies of vitamins and minerals.
