Vista, CA: 6:17am this morning, Halloween 2006, ushered in the official beginning of the obsession season in this ASD household with the first question, "mom, uh mom, maybe today we could rent Monster House. Mom, uh mom....."

The unofficial begining of the obsession season began somewhere in early October with the perseverative questions revolving around this first holiday. These questions picked up speed and ferocity not unlike a tornado until coming to a head this morning.

The obsession season for most households with ASD continues through Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years with a quick crash and end soon after the post New Years obsessions about next year. In the B. Family, they are fortunate enough that the obsession season continues with monthly birthdays until the beginning of May.

Ah yes, Obsession season arrived a little early this year, thanks to Disney over advertising Halloween sometime when it was still 90 degrees outside,....(I'm telling you that's just wrong).

"Mom I want Halloweentown,.....no The Littlest Vampire,...no...Scooby Doo,....wait where's Harry Potter One......I want to be, Spiderman, Wolverine, Mr.Incredible, Captain Jack Sparrow, the Red, Blue and Green

Yeah well, I walked into Gymboree this afternoon, and they were playing CHRISTMAS MUSIC! I immediately turned and walked out of the store.

ROFL!

Well we (boss and I) decided to hit a couple stores on a small break today and see if we could get some halloween stuff for our groups. RIGHT! Most was replaced for christmas. WE did find some on clearance though!

Well, our obsession began 2 weeks ago with the school's fall reward (they don't do Halloween/Harvest party in our district) - this would be the trip to the Corn Maze on Oct 20.

Then Saturday was T-or-T at the local merchants. Sunday we went to the Zoo Boo (Trick or Treat with the animals - very cool), and tonight was the real thing.

4yo Ryan made it 8 blocks walking (to daycare and back) and then stayed with Gramma to help pass out candy. Josh and I then took off and hit the other side of town.

This is a small town - the clock tower still chimes on the hour and everyone knows everyone. In 90 minutes he got a shopping bag FULL of GOOD candy. I'm impressed :) We didn't make out this well in the trailer park we used to live in.

Now to ration the gooey lovely stim-inducing chocolate. :)

I don't like Halloween, and Isaac has gotten quite obsessed with it so I asked him today why he likes it so much.
