Isaac has been wearing a life jacket almost non-stop since Tuesday morning.

Sylvia has a compression vest -- not weighted, it's just made of super-stretchy material that you velcro around her. We call it her "hug vest." Sometimes it seems to be a good thing for her, sometimes not... But maybe it would give Isaac the deep pressure he's craving...?

Walmart has a pressure type belt in the exercise isle. I think it supposed to be for sweating away belly fat, lol. If it were only that easy! I'd try that first. It was cheap. And it would be big enough to work like a vest minus the arm holes.

Would that be small enough to fit a child though? If so I may get it and try it for mike but I know most things made for an adult to lose weight likely won't fit his skinny hide.

Ok, I found it. Its not as tall as I thought it was. Its 8" tall. It velcrow's to itself so if your skinny you just wrap it around. I bet you could cut it shorter too. I think it'd be too hot to wear on a warm day outside but its a good inexpensive way to try out compression. If they like it then you could invest in something more suitable.

About the weighted vest, Eric uses one for a little while after school, or whenever he is hyper. It does help.

But don't buy the $70 one. You can make one. See if you can find a kid's fishing vest, or some kind of vest with pockets. Buy some bean bags and sew the pockets closed. I actually just sewed one for him myself. It cost less than $25, including the bean bags. I made Eric's reversible, denim on one side, Buzz Lightyear print on the other. I put pockets in the bottom that open and shut with velcro so I can add or take away bean bag weights.

Just an idea.

I am also looking for an undershirt kind of thing I can put on under Eric's clothes when school starts. I'm thinking maybe one of those tight swim shirts made to keep out the sun, or something like that.

Don't know about the belts, but a good idea too.

Thanks for letting me know Old Navy has them. Target did have them but they're out of them now. If Old Navy has them, maybe they're on sale now!
