Oh no! What a horrible night you guys had. Did she stay up till 6? Luckily my boys don't mind it when the power goes out, they enjoy the rare times they are allowed to play with the flash lights lol. Or if they get too bored they pull out their gameboy's.

The only thing I could say is prepare her for when it happens again? Or give her her own flashlight to have under her bed so it won't be so scary next time?

I know in this area, when it gets so hot the power tends to go out a few times in the summer. It stinks I know but everyone is running there AC at full power lol.

Maybe someone can come in and give some better ideas.....

Tap Lights, battery powered fans and battery powered alarm clocks. With those three she might be a little more comfortable because at least she'll have something to keep track of the time and a "night light."
To make it fun you could get her a glow stick or a special flash light for use only during power outages.

We also make sure that all the batterys on the DVD and Laptop are alway charged. They last about two hours which wouldn't have gotten you through the whole night, but might have helped her forget about the power and fall asleep.

Those are my thoughts. Luckily our power outages only happen during storms and it's never too hot.

Chris is like that too. I can never say maybe, or I'll think about it. It's either a yes no answer. For some reason the black outs don't bother him, but many many other things do. He's very very rigid (especially the food he eats.)

Oh well there will be other meetings :) Let me know if you hear of any if thats okay with you. Driving 45 min to check one out won't be a problem for me, but ya, its wayyyy to hot right now.

Michelle,

You didn't do anything wrong. You did the best you could do in short notice under the circumstances, which is all any of us can do.

You have learned form this experience and the next time wll be better. Unfortunately, that is what it takes sometimes.

((((Hugs))))
