Hi,
I'm Lainie. I've been married to Tony for 13 yrs. We have 3 children, Marisa (20) actually not her bio dad, but she has always considered him her dad, and he has always considered her his dd. She is a wonderful dd, who is sweet, kind and were really close. She's married to a great guy and they have given me my scrumptious baby grandson. He's not such a baby anymore as he turned 2 last March.
I also have Christopher (11 last March), who brought me to this board. So far he's un-dx'd. I believe he fits somewhere on the spectrum. Were working on it now. He's an amazing kid, who is filled with wonder, innocence and is very naive at times. He's kind to others, thoughtful and truley has a heart of gold.
Nicholas (7 last Dec) also has some traits of Autism, but shows more signs with Tourettes. Tomorrow I take him to Valley Childrens hospital for a hopefully a dx of Tourettes and also will have him checked out for something on the spectrum. He's my entertainer. He cracks me up and is very expressive. He's alot like Christopher were he's sweet, kind and another heart of Gold.

Hi, I'm Deirdre (Dee). I'm 32 and live in north suburban Atlanta, GA, although originally from Ireland.
What I love about Liam the most is his ability to constantly amaze me. Just when I'm about to burst into tears or put my head through glass he comes up with something so insightful or thought provoking he stops me in my tracks. I also love how he can almost thrash me at chess:)
Cian has changed so much these last few months; as sweet natured as he was he was a bit of a push over with his peers. These days I love that he is trying so hard to try to read social situations. he has a true sense of jusice and always wants to make things right for others, even if he's off on who has done what wrong, lol. An amazing gift in a preschooler. He is sooo afectionate and a wonderful snuggler...loooove that!
And like Renee I want to include my thus far (and hopefully stays that way) NT, Roan. Roan has a smile that would melt Atilla the hun's heart. She is a font of happiness and light....even if she doesn't believe in sleeping longer than 3 hours at a time...

Debbie (30), in Minnesota.
I'm Evelyn.
I'm nearly 40yo, married 14yrs to nearly 45yo undx AS dh. We have 12yo AS dd, 10yo NT ds (allergies, minor SID, probable ADHD), 8yo AS ds, and 3yo dd (allergies, maybe ADHD). We're in the Wash DC metro area.
One thing I love about my Aspies: when I'm with them, I rarely need pen/paper. They remember EVERYTHING (at least many, many things -- except those things you really want them to remember like to wash their hands after using the toilet). They remember names, addresses, phone numbers, can do calculations in their heads, etc. Amazing!
I'm Kate, mom to Ryan (8, AS) and married to Dan, for nearly 14 years. We live in PA. I work for a software company, managing a software testing group.
Ryan is mainstreamed in 1st grade, with pullouts for speech and a social skills thing at the end of the day. He is doing well in school, and has a great teacher, but the social aspect is really hard for him, even in 1st grade.
My favorite thing about him? He is really a sweet, happy go lucky little guy. Actually, not so little anymore. But he does have a sweet personality, and most of the people who work with him (teachers, therapists, etc.) like him. I just wish other kids understood him.

My name is Amy and I'm a sahm mom who has been married to a wonderful guy for 13 years. We have two beautiful daughters. Natalie is 10 yrs old and Lily is 4 yrs old. Lily is the one who brings me to this group. She has been dx'd with Sensenbrenner Syndrome as well as PDD-NOS. Natalie is such a wonderful big sister. She is very patient with all of us. She is also quite the artist! Lily can be such fun! She's like living with a stand up comedian sometimes. She has taught me so much since she was born. Her ability to overcome whatever life throws at her is an example to all those she come in contact with her. I really am very blessed to have such a wonderful family.

I'm Rose, wife to Nathan and SAHM to Elaina and Emily. Elaina will be 6 in June and Emily will be 3 in August. We are expecting another little girl in July. We homeschool, which Elaina seems to be responding well too.
Elaina provides me with so much laughter through the day! I can't laugh around her or she gets mad, but I love her little Aspie quirks, like taking everything SO literally. The other day, I told her she had her shoes on the wrong feet. I told her to put them on the other feet. And she got mad and said, "Mom, I don't HAVE any other feet!" I couldn't help but laugh. :-D She is such a wonderful person, I love watching her grow up.
She lost her first tooth yesterday and was so excited for the tooth fairy to come ... but when she woke up this morning, she cried for her tooth back. I told her that next time, we'll write the tooth fairy a note to see if she can keep the tooth. (Cause I can't tell her its in a baggie in my underwear drawer!)
I haven't been around for awhile but I'm Jill (36) and have a 9yo Aspie daughter, Haley. She was diagnosed only about a year ago after a horrible school year. I am happy to say that while she still has her issues (naturally), she is doing 110% better.
"What is your one of your favorite things about your Aspie(s)?"
My favorite thing has to be her passionate nature. She loves animals and nature in general and you can just feel her love for it when she talks. Always makes me proud. :)
