Hi gals,

Do any of your kids have Sensory Processing Disorder in addition to AS/PDD, etc?

Hi Christine. The whole mis dx of ADHD is common. My boy's doc doesn't spilt the ADHD with is PDD but rather LUMPS them together. Some spectrum kids do have sensory issues and it can run the gamet with sound, taste, touch, smell.............It took Adam a long time to get over the whole grocery store thing....

Through therepies an exposure to things I help Adam cope with some thing that may freak him out. Sand sadly is on thing Adam can't over come so I tweek that. Besides we see the beach once a year so who cares.

The hyperactivity Nick experiences may be his coping when the sensory issue at hand may be getting to him.

Itt's complicated cause all the spectrum issues have "sub" issues LOL

Hope this shed some light

I am answering that as former CL of the SID board (about a million years ago).

The VAST majority of Aspies/Auties/PDD-ers have sensory processing issues. Most of them have full-out SID /SPD whatever you want to call it.
