Meeting with a doctor something today...

I'm asking for some positive thoughts.

My life is just one crisis after another, interspersed with appointments.

DH and I have an appointment to meet with someone whose credentials I do not even know-I think she is a psychologist. It was agreed upon at our CSE for my little guy who just finished K. She is going to interview DH and I during lunch, then observe my son's behavior at home on another date. The point is to get on the record that he is different at home than at school, and evaluate the need for a family trainer.

I feel so unprepared for the meeting. Luckily, DH is very (too?) fluid verbally. (It's a good balance, because I tend to clam up.) I am just going to have to scatch out a list of behaviors when I get to work. (Like I'll have time-work is going to heck, too.) We're meeting the woman at lunch in the town DH and I work in.

So, if I get time, look for two posts. One about this meeting. The other about last evening: My sons locked themselves into a strip mall bathroom, and we had to call the fire department! Yes, it was tramatic for the older guy! Yes my younger guy was perfectly content, but who knows how he entertained himself in there. Yes, it kept us up late. No, it did not prevent my little guy from waking up bright and early this AM!

((((((((Sidney)))))))))

Remember, most parents don't do anythink like the amount of research and preparation you do prior to these meetings, so you are probably ahead of the game, even though you feel you aren't.

I will be thinking of you today. GL!

WOW What a day! What a couple days!

Autism definitely isn't boring that is for sure. The Bathroom at a strip mall! Thank god for cell phones.

Prayers for the meeting today and big time lighting a candle that son shows ALL his true home behavior when she observes. (ISn't it always the case that these are the days they decide to be perfect). I hope she is really good.

{{{sidney and family}}}

Wow, quite a few people have these type of things happening recently. I'm glad I posted my thread so everyone gets the prayers, postive thoughts and white light sent their way!

Good luck hon, and we will all be thinking of ya. As for the stip mall, hoy boy, what a night that must of been!!!! Glad to hear their okay, and in a few years... Well maybe in 10, you can sit back and kinda chuckle.... Remember the time.....

I know how it is when your child is completly different than at school! I filled out the Gilliam Autism Scale at the school and Chris tested high, and the teacher filled it out and he scored very low. The school said "Well we don't have to help you, because, we don't see it!

Well they do have to help you, and I'm glad your getting this meeting. I'm alot like your dh btw, I talk till I'm blue in the face (many people will agree to this as they have spoken to me on the phone teeeeheeee) and Tony is the quite one lol.

Good luck sweetie!!!! Sending Prayers, Postive Thoughts, and White light your way :)

hi,
we have the same problem with ds but the opposite. school he has meltdowns and is soooooo obvious, home hes as good as gold,in fact never seen him have a meltdown.its very difficult to find where to turn to when you just don't see it.
we find people at school tend not to believe us when we say theres no problems anywhere but here.
good luck today.
