Mercury in dental fillings

Hello,
Its been a while since i posted or even visted this board. my DS is 8 years old and was digonised with Aspegers a few years ago.
I was wondering if any of you have heard anything about this. i was reading a artical, that filings are made from mercury. here is one i found on the net http://www.home.earthlink.net/~berniew1/indexa.html
Any way my questions is this. have any of you noticed your DD & DS that are diganosed with Aspergers if sypotms have increased after haveing fillings. or if anyone has infomation regarding this.
thank you
Susan

Hi there,
My DD is only 4 and hasn't had any fillings (yet) but I don't believe that dentists use amalgam fillings anymore...? Those are the metal ones, right? In fact my dentist keeps bugging me to have all my fillings replaced with the newer material, specifically because the metal ones tend to break down and can be toxic. I'm fairly certain that most dentists use a newer substance now -- the name of it escapes me right now -- but it's not metal and doesn't contain mercury. Plus it looks nicer since it's white and blends right into your tooth color.
Am I right about this?
Jennifer
I know the dentist in our town still uses mercury fillings.
My son started stimming for the first time when he was 3yrs old. At the age he got his first fillings and he got a second set of 2yr old shots. (cause the public health nurse said he got them 1 day before his second birthday so they didn't count and he had to have them again to attend preschool. I didn't know any better then) So I don't know if it was the shots or the fillings but neither are good, IMO. Kyle has since had all of his filling removed and replaced with the white ones. I'm getting mine removed this month, except the ones hiding under my caps. Those will have to wait a while. Ohhh, I was so mad when they told me they had mercury under them.
