Hmmm...where's the "gag" emoticon when you need it???
Let's see, Claire began puking Saturday night, and of course, started flapping immediately so the vomit was flying, literally! It took three adults (DH, my mom and myself) to clean up the mess she made. She spent most of Saturday night throwing up, and when she wasn't puking she had major league "Dia" as she refers to it. GROSS!
Then yesterday afternoon, shortly after returning from my mom's, Noah started in. Only, he didn't tell us right away! In fact, he said, "Well I puked in my room, but since it's all in the garbage can, I thought it would be okay." WTF??? Only an aspie would puke into a garbage can and then not bother telling anybody!!! He puked off and on all night last night, but we thought he was feeling better today. But alas, about an hour ago he started unloading against. *sigh*
To top it off, Claire went into huge meltdown mode about not going to school today. She screamed and cried and said she needed a "cuddle day" because everyone laughs at her. When I asked her who laughs at her she proceeded to name everybody in her classroom, including the teacher and 1:1, in alphabetical order. So we opted to have her stay at home today too. We were both too exhausted to fight the battle.
Now I'm waiting for the phone to ring to tell me Emma's puking too. Hopefully she got to do her big presentation this morning, so if she does get sick, it'll be out of the way.
I'm off to clean another pan o' puke.

-who wonders what she did to deserve such a pleasant Mother's Day?!?!?

Blech! You're right about only an AS would barf and not let anyone know. My 8yo ds seems to only get sick in the middle of the night, and he's never aware that he's done so even tho' it's stuck to his face, clothes and hair. I think how can you NOT know, but he truly doesn't. I can deal with almost any other ailment except vomit. Ugh! So sorry you've got the sickies at your house and hope it passes quickly!
That's ok, Cian woke up with strep on Sat am. Rash oall over hsi chest and back, but no fever so I loaded him up and let him test for his orange belt in karate anyway...hee hee I'm a horrible Mommy; and then Liam melted on and off all day yesterday while Cian moaned constanty. At least the dog was nice to me...sigh. Waiting for the rash to get Liam, it invariably will.

Bless your heart. Here's hoping the kids get better soon. A lil story so you know you're not alone.
Mother's Day 1997 (mind you I am 4.5 months pregnant with my daughter at the time) Lil Victor was 8 months old. At this point he slept between me and dh because it was easier to get him to calm down and go to bed. Well, Sunday morning came and I woke up to "Mama, Mama, Ma *puke*" When I opened my eyes, Lil Vic was throwing up ON ME. We were both covered and both of us went into the tub while Dh cleaned up the bed. Turned out he had a temp of 105 and it was just some bug that was going around.
As you can see, I do understand and sympathize. A mother's work is never done. So while you've got the yukie pukes being passed around your house, remember, at least they didn't puke ON you. :)

(((Amy))) I'm so sorry that you had to deal with all that on Mother's Day, of all days! My mom and I were just talking yesterday about how quite frequently, Mother's Day can be a nightmare for one reason or another. Maybe it's because there is this expectation of how wonderful it's supposed to be. But having to clean up puke all day long has got to be one of the worst! I hope that your kids feel better soon!

The Puke Fairy hates holidays.
visit my blog at www.onesickmother.com
Paula's always good for a laugh over a puke-a-rama, lol.
Amy dear, I hope all is well in your home very very soon. I hope it by-passes you and you don't get it. If you do the homeopathic ipecacum (or similar name - ipecac something) is great. Take it after the first puke fest and every 15 minutes until you feel a bit better. Typically keeps us from having more than one bout.

POOR AMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
((hugs))
Only I thought I had puke fairy come to our home for holidays.
I truly understand the degree of barf on that calibre.
Sending prayer and barf bags your way.
Hope the kiddies get better soon.
Love

Thanks for the well wishes, gang! Paula, as always, your story had me in stitches! I had to read it to DH who now understands why I ADORE you! :-)
As an update...
On the bright side, Noah and Claire both seem to be feeling better. However, Emma's "turn at bat" began shortly before 6:00 p.m.- just as we were about to leave for dinner & errands. She's devastated because she's had perfect attendance for the last two years, and by missing school tomorrow, she'll no longer be eligible for this year's award.
I think I should relay the TRUE highlight of my Mother's Day..."Journey" diamond earrings. No, they're not as extravagant as they sound, but DH never does stuff like that, so I was tickled pink. (Gotta love it when the 1st quarter bonus arrives the Friday before a holiday!)
Oh yeah...AND my dishwasher was installed today! WOOOOHOOOO! We're just shy of four years in this house, and now that we're ready to put it on the market, we decided we'd better have one of the cabinets retro-fitted to house a dishwasher. Boy did it feel good to load that puppy tonight!!! The new ceramic tile was installed last week and the countertops are being ordered tomorrow. Now I just have to get my babies better so I can get to painting.
Here's hoping I'm not the next fall prey to the evil Puke Fairy!
