My New Job!

I was offered a job today and i took it! I interviewed last week for the agency that provides home services to my boys. It was for an admin asst. But the job morphed into two--admin and a DIR asst. I was hired for the later. Great part is i can split the work up between home and working at the office including evenings and weekends! Who could beat that flexibility! I will be working with the Autism Specialist helping her with the company's DIR program, scheduling meetings, going to health fairs, and fielding calls to parents who are interested in the program.

It will be 10-15 hours a week, just right. I'm excited, I can still take care of the kids and work too!

Congrats Valerie! That is exactly how I felt when I go my medical reception position! I work abot 20 hours a week-usually between 8-2 and I am home before they get home from school!! And boss knows I can't(or reather won't) stay past 2 and NO weekends! I love having a flexable job....

I Know you will have much success...as you know A LOT about the topic!

Congratulations, Valerie! What a perfect situation for you! One day I'd love to find a part-time job like that, it sounds perfect.

Also, I just got my TAP magazine in the mail the other day, great article and you have a beautiful family! For some reason it takes a really long time for me to get that mag, maybe since I'm in FL and it comes from CA, but I always find the articles very interesting and informative and you made some very good points and suggestions.

Thanks! it was kind of a fluke that i ended up in the magazine. it was exciting to see the boys picture in it. i'm surprised you knew it was me! i'm excited about the job. i'm not saying that i don't like the job of being a mom, but this will be a new challenge.

Valerie, that is so great! congratulations! It's so nice that you get to work within the field, because if you're like me you'd be thinking about it anyway. :-)
And 15 hours is perfect -- that's what I'm trying to work from home these days. It's just right.

Let us know how the first week goes.
