Today as Jake was walking to break a kid threw a piece of paper at him-well Jake picked it up and htrew it back. Then the kid punched him in the face. he Principal saw the whole thing and got the boy and made sure Jake was ok and sent him to quiet break not as punishment but to calm down. Jake thought he was in trouble and the AS teacher had to come and calm him and explain he wasn't in trouble. My poor baby. We are so afraid he is going to retaliate or offend , annoy the wrong larger kid and get hurt. **BIGG SIGH**

OUCH!
I hope that other kid was well and truly punished. Poor Jake! You might try a social story to allay any potential retaliation.

Oh man Liza, I am sorry. I hope the school is able to deal with the whole episode effectively and make it a constructive learning experience. That is just horrible though. I have many of the same concerns you know. Well not that Cait will get pounded, Mike is trying hard for that role. But she could be easily tortured by snide girls and used by naughty boys.
I will be keeping jake in my thoughts.

(((HUGS))) how awful for Jake! they just don't understand and I think some kids just try to provoke them. Hope Jake is able to steer clear of this kid (he could try to retaliate-- we have been in this kind of situation w/ our oldest). it's so scary and hard to help them when they try to do the right thing and then it still backlashes.

Liza, how awful! Maybe it would help if the principal talked to Jake & reassured him that he hadn't been punished?
I am sorry he went though that! It is one of my biggest fears when Ian enters school. I hope he is ok, and that the other kid is in a huge amount of trouble.
