My son's leg was shaking....

My son 10 yr old crawled in our bed tonite, while I was on the computer, and my hubby was on the ex-box. My son fell asleep. I went to wake him to get him to his room and his leg started shaking while he was asleep... violently.

It scared me, really bad. Could this be a sign of a seizure?

I'm still not convinced that his eyeroll and lip pinching thing isn't a seizure either...

Lainie, JMHO, I'd have him evaluated for seizures.

My son (10, AS, Epilepsy) was doing the zoning out thing, then as time went on his hands and head began to tremble. His eyes blinked very rapidly and he'd pull at his lip. Come to find out, they were all signs of seizures.

1 month after first Neuro appointments, 2 EEGs and anti seizure meds, we are 3 weeks seizure free! The meds are working and what a different little boy I have.

Since he's not seizing every 1-2 minutes, the grades are coming up and he is reading more easily.

Someone, I think it was Renee, but I could be wrong, on this board pegged my sons symptoms as Absence Seizures in October when I first started noticing them. What's sad is that we had to wait till January to get our ped. to believe my and till February to get to see the Neuro!

Hugs to you. I'd have him checked out.

Lainie,

I think you should talk to your ped for a consult/evaluation

I hope all is okay Laine and it is good to get it checked out. Stephanie has epilepsy and it is controlled very well by medicine. She first started by pulling at her shirts, then by curling up her arms. Her legs and arms still shake at times, but the neurologist doesn't believe they are seizures since she has had clear EEG's. She feels that her blood sugar is low at those times and she needs to eat??? We just go along with what she says. She doesn't have them often. Good luck with it.

Just got home from work. Thanks guys, My husband thinks he could of just been dreaming, but I don't know, he didn't see the shaking. I kept saying Tony look, look, look, but by the time he looked over, it stopped. He didn't see the shaking like I did.

I see the ped on wensday for my younger one and I will talk to her about it.
