i was woundering if any of you use a large umbrella stroller (wheelchair), and how much they cost. I am slowly coming to the conclusion that we may have to get one for DS. It is slowley becoming harder and harder to take him out any were. He will lay down and not move. If he dose not get his way. Pepole were laphing becuse he would just sprawl all over the place. I relize that he should learn to walk but at the same time, I also thinking of safty and my own sanity. What would take five minutes, is taking 25 to 30 becuse he won't walk. It is becoming harder and harder to care for him as he get older, carrying him, lifting him out of the tub things like that. Well i guess that's enough venting for one day. Thanks for listening

Kirsten,

I don't have any direct expertience with this, but I know a site which may help.

Don't freak out when you see this site. It is a catalog site for professional rehab products, and there are some scary-looking products thereon.

However you may want to request a copy of their pediatrics catalog, or call them and ask for advice. They have the MacLaren umbrella stroller, which I think is one of the best out there. I had a friend with CP and her mom used one of these for her and swore by it. They can only have gotten better in ... 28? years!

Good luck.

LOL

I'm sorry!

I am so absent minded today. I sent DD to school without her backpack, forgot to feed the dog, and tried to open the house with the "bipper" for the car (twice! Then wondered what was wrong wiht the automatic opener when the car bipped and the house stayed stubbornly locked!)

here you go.
