Ok, slightly optimistic here. We saw the therepist that works with the psychitrist that we took ds to the other day. She was very nice. She also reassured me that we made the right decision about school, and that we shouldn't upset things by changing schools. She thinks that our IEP, and the other things we have him doing at school are all good, and helping him a lot. I feel soooo much better now. I thought I was a lousy mom, and screwing him up bad.
She is going to see him every other week because I cannot afford to take him every week. I know it sounds crappy, but I guess we all have to compromise a little. Ds likes the therepist, and so I hope she can help with the anxiety, and social skills.
So, cautiously optimistic, nothing is easy is it? No quick fixes that's for sure. OH well. At least that huge knot is my stomach is gone.

Carey,
I am glad you saw a professional that gave you some validation as a mom.
I must say, I was kind of ticked off with the "hot" doc who made you feel so low.

Thank you so much Paula!
We started the Cymbalta today, not so good. He had a weird reaction where he couldn't stop shivering, teeth chattering. Called the doc, and was very surprised that he took my call personally and right away. Soooo, we are stopping the Cymbalta, and will try something new next week. I hope we find the right one this time.
Carey
Carey,
I was going to say that I'm sorry the cymbalta didn't work out. But you know, I'm not. I "know" a lot of people on the internet who take it for neuropathy, and it is a really heavy drug to give a little kid.
I got this off the Cymbalta site
