Hi everyone!!!
Well, we finally got moved into the new house. It's sooo big!! Nathan did great the day of the move, but before and after....well, let's just say that I found all 30 of his monster trucks lined up!! LOL He's been talking REAL loud lately. Lots of obsessing, needing extra help, constant reminding. He's having a hard time focusing, because it's just so messy!! I did get the boys' rooms together, so I'm hoping that will help. But now he's sooo excited because his toys are out of the boxes!!
He went to ESY today, and they had him play with lotion. They said that it really calmed him down. Sooooo, I bought some lotion for him today! I let him pick it out, and let him smell them so he would get the one he liked best.
I still haven't unpacked my dishes yet. Well, the coffee cups, but that's it!!! NEED LOTS OF COFFEE!! Nathan is having to learn not to scream for me......because I can't always hear him now. He has to "come" to me now! I don't think he likes it so well.
Well, I better go now. I still have lots to do!!
Michelle

Congratulations Michelle! That is so wonderful.
One thing we noticed when we moved to a bigger house is that the stress level went way way down. A friend of mine with 2 ASD kids noticed the same when she moved to bigger digs. We have a good sized yard (by california standards) and house. If the kids are bugged they can go off to thier own spot where before we were stepping on top of each other. I hope you have the same experience.
Congrats on the new house and making it through the move alive.
Renee
Thanks Renee,
I was wondering if moving into a new house would help. So far, he's not wanting to be alone though. He won't go anywhere in the house by himself, especially when it's dark. I think he's still getting used to it. Maybe when he starts getting more comfortable he won't mind so much. I've been having to help him alot. Although, he is remembering where everything is, he still prefers to have us help him. Running from one end of the house to the other is starting to wear me down though!! LOL
Michelle
Congratulations on the move.

Happiness is a conscious choice, not an automatic response. --
LOL, been there. When it is dark and most times Mike still doesn't like to be alone, but we aren't on top of each other. And the other kids have room to go play too. During the Day he is usually ok, but when it is dark often what he will do is be ok in a room near where we are. Our front rooms are open and his room is the first off the hall (it is 1 level) so if I am in the kitchen he will be in the living room on his favorite rocker or in his room.
Gotta run,
Renee
Wooo HOOOOOOO
New house! New House!
Let's Paaaaarrrrrrttyyy!
Seriously, I am glad the move went well. It sounds like Nathan is handling things pretty well. It is a huge change.
You know, moving house is one of the most stressful of life's event, so nail all your stuff to the floor and refuse to leave for anything!

Yay! I'm glad the move when well! I'm sure once Nathan gets settled it will be wonderful! We like living in a bigger house. Our last house in WI was great because we had so many areas that the kids could go and do their own thing, here we have all those same areas but because we have an open concept downstairs, hardwood floors and an open foyer the noise travels more-- so when Weston is vocally stimming and the other kids are loud it can get really noisy-- and loud is one of those sensory things I can not take!!
remember to rest and take time for yourself in the midst of getting settled! as stressed mommy leads to stressed kids!
