So it is back to the Focalin. Josh was on the Straterra for just over 2 months. Part just bringing him up to dose overlapping with the Focalin then Just the Strattera. And it was not touching him. At least 1-2x per week we would not get a good day on his agenda book. Usually it would say he was not paying attention, doing his own thing etc. The only thing it did was help him lose a precious pound. He was very moody and just all over, too much. Today he failed a test in Social studies and the rule is that he has to redo the test. He couldn't even focus. He was messy not following directions at home. So I decided to keep him home from Hebrew School and his Youth Group so he could focus and finish his hiomework without him worrying about being late(Josh gets very over concern about being where he needs to be next and not enough to focus on what is on hand) I also decided to keep him in the house. I figure he is going to blow soon if I had him over stimulated so I figure let him stay in his room no screen time for today.

So yesterday, DH took Josh to his dev Ped and we are now going to start back on Focalin as of tomorrow. Let see if we have a major difference.

I don't mind Josh having Drug Holidays and I admit it is easier when he is on the Focalin to let him skip days and keep him off on vacations to allow for weight gain etc. Plus I think it cuts down on him getting tolerant on it etc..

I don't know..ugh

I'm sorry Rina, I mus have missed a previous post. What was wrong with the focalin in the first place, weight loss? Wish we had that problem. The risperdal is having a horrible affect on weight gain with Liam, and we had to switch from adderall due to irritability. The focalin seems to be the ticket at school, although dh and I want to wean the risperdal and see what happens. I do ope third time's a charm!!

The Focalin worked to a certain extent. Nothing is well perfect in the world of Asperger's. The appeitiate wasn't the biggest issue but it was part of it. It just felt like it had lost some of its effectiveness. Esp back in January when Josh just seemed to not do as well. Esp with the hair pulling. The doctor thought maybe we should try Strattera because there was something in it similar to Paxil that might help with the anxiety and settle out the hair pulling. So we were trying to do something different to help that. But I guess I am learning that even with eh best of meds nothing is going to be perfect.
