So at school Liam's been receiving a good deal of 3's out of 5 for behavior. This is mainly as the new autism teacher seems to grade differently than last year's teacher (ie: last year a 3 meant lots of issues, this year a 3 is earned even after one incident). So yesterday Liam received a 3 for "pushing in line while coming from reces.s" I was written a note by Liam's teacher to "remind" him that today was fun friday and if he wants to participate in it he needs to have good behavior" ....or something to that effect but with a nicer tone. Still the message was the same. I was furious....she has a room of auties and here she is assuming a wee pep talk from Mom is going to fix things. But Liam is the hf one, so I guess he's different....grrrrr
I responded with the comment that she of all people should know an ASD child will be one way one day and another the next, and a talk from me may yield very little. I also asked about her behavior grading system.
Today after school Liam received a 5 out of 5 and a glowing report. Now lets be clear.............
I DO NOT BELIEVE FOR A SECOND! She is trying to get me off her back,...how do I know this, because I used to teach spoiled upper middle class white kids at a private school in MD, and I used to do the same thing, lol When a parent got on my case, I did all I could to get them off it.
She answered not one of my questions/concerns. I have no intention of comparing this teacher to last years but I feel a total disconnect with this one, and even though I had some personality clashes with last year's teacher there was a mutual sense of respect, and she was totally on board with us and Liam Dh is very annoyed...we sense a parent/teacher conference looming. Just not sure what'll yield!

Oh, Dee, that sucks. Kyle's 5th grade teacher was that way. She was soooo fake it made dh & I nauseous. I hope things get better as the year goes on.
