BUMMER!

Got a call yesterday from Mike's teacher to see if I could bring him in today to meet the 5th grade general ed teacher, see his desk, etc. She is the best, even I hadn't been planning that well ahead to prep him. He was so cute, he asked to bring his guinea pig with him. Gave him comfort. You could tell he was stressed but he told the new general ed teacher all about why pigwidgeon has his name but you don't see pigwidgeon in the HP movies. He started going into all the different kinds of guinea pigs (I didn't know he knew that!) So my guess is he is already comfortable with her which is great.

Just got an email back from Cait's AS teacher to meet next week informally to get ready for the year, etc.

It starts. I really really was enjoying my time off. LOL.

It's awesome that the teachers are so on-top of things that they are calling you to set this stuff up.

That Mike feels comfortable withthe GenEd teacher is also a good sign.

Ya know, it's not so bad going back to school if there are great people to whom you can hand them over.

oh I know only too well! Nathan starts school next Friday, 7th grade and I am very anxious. We have open house next Tuesday and then he starts Friday. He has yet to meet any of his new teachers, he starts middle school this year, we moved here to NC from NH in February so he's still fairly new and has no real friends yet. He seems okay about it and is actually excited to be going back (very boring summer) but i'm a wreck. back to anxiously awaiting the phone calls from teachers and principal regarding his "behavior" which they still don't understand. I can only hope that this school will be different. My last IEP meeting at the end of the year last year was uneventful. They are putting way too much pressure on him to be "good". So I can see some advocating coming up soon. I need to get my Nathan Notebook ready, I feel like i'm going back to school too :)
