Non-dairy sources of calcium?

Hi!

Neither of my kids drink milk. Henry has an intolerance, and milk causes him extreme constipation. Mark just doesn't like it. Henry likes and eats cheese but Mark does not. My mom was making remarks about how Mark isn't getting the calcium he needs so now I'm wondering if I should be feeding him things he isn't getting. He is a great eater and is thin but at a normal weight for his age/height.

So what are some sources of calcium that are not milk-related?

Thanks!

Lily was dx'd with a milk allergy at the age of 1.5 yrs. Due to texture issues, etc, she refused to drink soy or rice milk or eat most other things that could have helped her calcium intake. I did find a cookbook for people who can't have milk and it had a great recipe for pancakes made with rice/soy milk, so she got some calcium that way, but not near enough. Her gastro. doctor told us to crush up two Tums into some applesauce and that would take care of her calcium intake. I don't know if Mark likes anything like that, or maybe he would chew the Tums tablets instead. Lily refuses to chew them, even now. After several years of applesauce w/Tums, she finally started drinking enough enriched soy milk so we don't worry so much about her calcium anymore. Hope this helps!
