Went to brush Noah's hair this morning, and low and behold he's got himself another huge bald spot in the very front of his head.

(((Amy))) That must be so frustrating for you! I can't believe that the teacher didn't even notice when he's sitting right in the front! And I agree with you, what's the point of an "escape card" if no one at school is willing to teach him to use it? I'm with you too on the ridiculous state standardized testing. It seems like the teachers can't really teach anything anymore accept what's going to be on those stupid tests. Here in TX the teachers call it "teaching to the test". It is such a sad concept to me that everyone gets so wrapped up in funding that they lose focus on why children are in school in the first place. I hope that you can talk some sense into his teacher soon.

Oh crap Amy,

I don't know what to say. I'm really sorry. I'm close to tears myself thinking about it, and I can't come up with any constructive ideas.

Hey Amy..

I have the exact ssame problem with Josh. He was fine over the summer. Everything grew back in. About a month after school started back came the bald patches. He can't seem to say why. It is written into his IEP that he can wear a hat(he likes hoodies and they are okay too) in school. He also has a pass to bring with him in the hallways when switching classrooms so the hall monitors don't bother him.

We had switched his meds to Strattera in hopes of easing the anxitey that causes the hair pulling but it didn't help. And Josh claims he did more plucking with the Focalin. But he had been on it for awhile

I'm sorry Amy. (((hugs))) I know that frustration well. Haley hasn't done the hair pulling but she would scratch and bite at her hands and arms til she was bleeding all over the place. Drove me insane! The school never helped her with that either. In fact, they removed her like a disease and were just disgusted with it rather than making an effort to help her. I understand the concern over blood and all but geez!!

I hope something can be done so that this doesn't happen anymore. I can just feel his frustration and yours. ((hugs))
