Not Exactly A "Happy" Father's Day
| Sun, 06-17-2007 - 12:15pm |
DH left early this morning for North Carolina (interviewing tomorrow)...so the kids and I didn't get to spend much time with him. Handed him his cards, got a couple of hugs- but that's about it. I know that all of this will pay off in the end, but it leaves me feeling lonely. I'm sure the fact that my own father passed away in 1986 is contributing to my loneliness as well.
Here's hoping that rest of you are enjoying the day with your dad's/DH's/whoever.

I wonder sometimes if that's not what sent my brother over the edge, being told he is now that man of the house (at age 17).
wow Lainie, you made me cry too!
I have had similar experiences.

Wow, I have goosebumps. I can see the strong connection with that picture. It was meant to be when it was taken. And for some reason, somone up above knew that that picture was gonna help you along with your healing process.
I'm so glad you have it :).
Hey you never know, all of our dads could be up there smiling down upon us, saying cool, our kids found each other! And there stories will actually help one another when it gets hard.
So glad to have you guys as my friends :)

Debbie-
On the subject of Claire eating pizza, I thought I'd share this with you.
When DH got home from NC on Monday night we all went out to eat. Claire got rather "talkative" with the waitress who began asking her a series of questions. How old are you? Almost 7. When's your birthday? August. What kind of a party are you going to have?
A Hawaii Pizza Party!!!

Guess we'll be skipping the traditional pupu (sp?) platter and replacing it with a pizza platter. Thank goodness Oriental Trading has lots of cheap luau stuff.
