This morning I grabbed the Boston Herald. Front page is a picture of a young murder suspect. Suspect stabbed a high school classmate. Then several pages about the suspect -he has aspergers. I don't know what to say. My thoughts & prayers are with both families. If you want to read the story .. Bostonherald.com

Ok, I just read the story and I think it is absolutely the worst of all possibilities for a parent. Autism just got too big.

It appeared to me that he was a kid who's obsession was weapons and the macabre and he didn't realize what the consequences of his actions would really be. There are comments in the article about him asking how people die, obsessed with weapons. However, after the incident he ran into the class crying "It was an accidet! It was an accident!" and the cops quoted him saying "I don't want him to die!"

The young victim just sounds like a nice young man that was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Not a bully who was tormenting the young man. And the young man with AS didn't seem like he was out for retaliation, etc.

That was my take from the reading. I could be wrong but it makes me so sad.
