Hi, my dd's(10) latest obsession is Harry Potter. I guess alot of kid's are though. She has read all of the books several times, memorized spells, chooses friends by their Harry Potter interests, etc. Tonight she went to her old Montessori school for a Harry Potter party sleep-over. She is usually not good with new social situations. She doesn't know many kids @ the school now since she hasn't attended since 2nd. grade! She called up her old teacher(it's a home school with 12 kids) and just decided to go. The teacher & I are still friends. I was amazed that she just went out on a limb & did this! She was 1 of 2 girls there plus 5 boys. They are going to Barne's & Noble for the book @ 12 mid. I ordered the book from somewhere else though because B & N is the WALMART of book stores taking over the book store empire. I hate big commercialism! Anyway, just wondered if any other AS kids into Harry Potter in a big way? I know Renee's son is. BTW Renee, I went to see Dr. Norall. I'll have to tell you more. Have you been to any of the North County AS parent support group meetings? The psych. told me about them. Take care- MaryAnn

YEAH!! Ayla is a big Harry Potter nut! She is visiting her dad right now and he told me yesterday that they were planning on going to the book opening party. All I could say was "better you than me." LOL

I think it's great that your dd went out on that social limb. Cudos for her!! I'm willing to bet that being around other Potter People isn't quite as scarey of a thought as being around other 'normal' kids. LOL, truth is, she probably thinks any kid who isn't obsessed with Harry Potter isn't normal at all. and from her point of view I guess they wouldn't be.

Hey, I know, when we get that Aspie Commune going with Renee Ayla can be our librarian and your dd can be our Spell Keeper. I think Jade would be happy to be the potion proffessor. Maybe Mike can be the Head Master? LOL

HEHEHEHEHE

Mike would LOVE to be in charge! or so he would think.

Then for anyone who has read teh new book, Cait is working on her impression of Professor Umbridge lately. hehe. (For those of you who haven't, she is the but-in-ski from the Ministry of Magic teaching at hogwarts and trying to take over the school. Goes around evaluating the other teachers, etc.) So who is teh Harry Potter addict in my house? Well I am reading the kids the new book and we are on Chapter 2 as a family. The kids love Harry, but I am already on page 530 and I have read teh first 4 already. I COULDN'T wait for teh new book.

Apple doesn't fall to far sometimes.

I went to 1 once. It just never works out at a good time for me. The kids have religous Ed on Monday nights and I just never make it in the summer. It is usually the first Monday of the Month.

I will give you a call. Love to hear of you meeting with Cynthia.
