I'm compiling a list of sensory activites that we (me and Isaac's PCAs) can do here at home to help regulate him.

Try to get some crossing the midline stuff in like marching with touching your hand to your opposite knee. Also hanging a ball from the ceiling and batting with your hands back and forth alternating hands.

Heavy work: unloading books from a book shelf into a laundry basket and push it across the room. Carrying in grocerys. Wall or regular push ups. Wheelbarrel races.

head stand contests (Owen is the grand champ at our house)

clothes pin relays-- one person puts clothes pins all around a bath or hand towel and hands it to the next person who takes them all off, the next person has to put them back on again.

toss the stuffed animal-- two kids/people share a bath towel and hold the short ends at arms length. put a stuffed animal in it and have them swing it or toss it in the air.

make and pull homemade taffy-- google a recipe and let him choose the flavors and colors used and then give as gifts to his therapists, teachers, and caregivers.

make soft pretzels-- let him help knead the dough and shape the pretzels-- as long as you're not on a gluten free diet.

build a tent w/ large blanket/sheet and cardtable or backs of 2 chairs and read or make puzzles by flashlight inside.

I'll keep thinking
