Hi everyone,
Well, we are all mostly recovered from our month-long cold-from-he**. David's pesky little mood disorder is acting up a bit, and now Nathan also seems to be experiencing his own mood issues. I REALLY wish that our babysitter didn't have a real job, and was available on-call at any time.
Yesterday, David got all weird at toothbrushing time. If anything is going to go wrong that day, it generally happens during toothbrushing, so I wasn't too surprised...except his usual mood stabilizer medication had just been increased, so I expected things to be better. I acted like I didn't care when he was spitting into the toilet, but when he spat toothpaste at me, I got mad at him. Of course, that made him get even more silly. Then, DH tried to come into the bathroom to get something, and David wildly slammed the door on MY hand AND DH's hand! I thought he had broken my fingers, it hurt so much! I kept my cool as much as I could, but when I tried to tell DH what happened, I referred to David as "that little f---er." David, who has recently learned the f word, thought that was hilarious, and began laughing REALLY loud. Luckily, he hasn't repeated it.
Today, I asked David how school went. He told me that the teacher made him go outside and run laps (we're in CA) because he got too bouncy...and that when he was finished, he felt worn out and still bouncy. This was not what we decided at the IEP meeting in Sept, but she doesn't seem to get that he's not suffering from mere excess physical energy. I wrote her an email explaining, again, that he has a neurological condition (or two).
What fun.
