Got a call from the school today. Dave needs to go back to speech which means he goes back on an IEP. DANG! I knew it was coming but was living in happy denial again. He has all the sounds in isolation but can't put them together effectively and as such it appears to be an oral motor-planning problem. Great, something else neurological. Considering he is major sensory issue boy it isn't a surprise but still.

Dave was in speech and graduated. He still had artic issues but it wasn't significantly behind. We knew he would likely need it again but I was just getting used to him not having an IEP.

(blowing raspberries at everyone)

I'm sorry, Renee. :(

My dd will probably have speech added to her IEP this yr too. They've been monitoring her since preschool. Back then she needed it but her SM made it impossible. She eventually caught up to only having the age related mis-articulations. half way through last yr the SLP said she needed direct services again but they were still afraid to try it. We think this yr we'll be able to try it though.

Hopefully it won't take Dave long to catch up.
