Lainie,

Glad to see you back. I hope you guys are feeling better. I know nothing about the drug, but I feel your pain and your dilemma.

I can't say what I would do -other than research the H-E-You-Know-What

I did find one other website in my search last night on the use of Orap with the pediatric tourettes population. It did say in their study it was no more dangerous to kids than to adults. There are still all the interactions and such that are very concerning from the other sites but i guess it is one of those things you have to weigh.

I lost the link but if you do a search for tourettes and orap (or whatever the generic name was) then you will likely find it.

You could give it a try and see if you notice any improvements.

Totally understand your point Mary.

I was looking these up with Lainie last night and some of the side effects can be fatal. For instance, you can't take it with a whole host of medications or with grapejuice or it can be fatal. I know there is a possibility of it causing a fatal arythmia called QT prolongation.

My doc tried to put my DS on a med once that caused the QT thingie. It was a strong one and stupidly I didn't research enough before hand. It didn't do anything fatal but he turned into a zombie for a week then I flushed them all.

Lainie,

I looked up Orap on a medical site that my company subscribes to, see below for the information I found.

Lainie,

I think at very least, you shoudl have his heart checked out first, to make sure it is OK before you start anything. I don't know if you remember Susan who used to be here. (I think it wass before you came here)

Anyway they were going to put her
