For all you who were in chat last night, I'm sorry I suddenly left. I went to get the girls started on thier bedtime routines and since DH wasn't home that involved helping Angel with her teeth. She'd been complainng of a tummy ache all evening but I didn't htink anything of it since yeaterday she'd tried to eat us out of house and home (I mean, 2 PB&J a 1 balogna sandwish in 2 hours!).
But as I was brushing her teeth she suddenly doubled over and started screaming. It was then that I remembered that I'd picked up a few Yogos off the floor yesterady. They had been under Eva's chair where she'd been sitting doing crafts and I found them right after she was done. I didn't think anything of it, except to remind Eva that she can't leave milk products out where Angel can get them, especialy if they aren't immediately apparent as being milk products. So, anyway, I ask Angel if she ate anything that wasn't handed to her by me, Dad, or Jade, and she said "Ya, had candies Eva left."
Now, for those who don't already know, my 4yo DD, Angel, is fatally allergic to dairy. Just trace amounts make her sick, direct amounts can kill her.
So, there I am, on the phone to the nieghbor and the hospital at the same time. The neighbor comes over, drops off her older teenager to watch Jade and Eva, and then packs us up in her car and takes Angel and me to the ER. They pumped her full of argumantenm and immodium and watched her for 3 hours. The doctors there had never actually seen that level of end-reaction allergy before so she got lots of visitors. She loved the attention... especially after they made the pain stop.
Anyway, she's home today and on a liquid diet for two days, plus meds. She goes back in on Moday to have a barrium test to see if there was any serious damage done to her intestines that they missed. But looking at her now I don't think there is. She's hold up in front of the TV on an old futon mattress with six pillows, nine stuffed animals, and all five of her favorite blankets. Eva, who feels absolutely retched about the whole thing, is waiting on her hand and foot, refilling her rice milk and water as needed. She's no longer in pain (until she goes potty) but she's tired.
Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know what happened. More as it comes.

P.S. Too tired to spell check.

Candes,
I hear stories like this and thank God we dont' have any serious allergies here. OMG what a to-do over some yo-gos.
Thanks for the update. Here hoping the barium test goes OK. Even if it does, it's still a pain to have to do it...
((((hugs))) to Angel -and to you.

Candes,
That's really scary!
((((HUGS)))) to you and Angel both, and poor Eva!
I'm glad she's healing and doesn't look as though any major damage was done, I so hope the barium goes well and doesn't show any damage! wow, how scary!

You had us worried, lady! I'm glad to hear that Angel is on the mend. Bless her heart! Darn those dreaded Yo-Gos!!!

Dear Candes,
OHMIGOD how frightening. I am SO SO glad that she is (so far) alright. Fatal allergies are the worst the worst, we know and love a boy with severe peanut allergies and I so feel for you all.
Prayers and light for fast healing...
Sara
Okie dokie, she's back to her snarky self today. Still has a bit of pain when she goes potty, but she doesn't scream anymore. Took her out shopping last night and she did great. She was at war with herself between wanting to ride the 'whoah is me, I'm just had a near death experience' thing and 'LOOK! I gots a new van with all these nifty wheelchair features!' thing. The pride in the nifty new van won out, lol. And she was absolutely floored and delighted that Daddy actually parked in a handicap spot (he usually doesn't, refuses to take up a space for someone who might need it more). Of course, we didn't tell her that he did that because the new van has hydrolic doors and we HAVE to use the spaces with it (or severily damage the car next to us). She thought it was all for her, parked right in front of the store doors, and she was thrilled.
Ahhhh, the little things in life.
