I got some terrible news today and I'm literally numb.
One of my closest friends from HS passed away Wednesday. Tris was 34 years young. He leaves a son who's close to Josh's age and 2 younger daughters. He was always so happy and full of life.
I don't know what happened. I know that he's had heart problems in the past, so that's my best guess. His obituary simply reads "Died a XXX Hospital".
No visitation, no funeral. Which makes it even harder.

I'm so sorry.
OMG I am so sorry. Those kinds of things just leave you numb and speechless.
A few years back I found out through the grapevine and newspaper that my estranged brothers daughter had died in a fire. She had lived for a week after the fire and then passed away. If not for some old neighbors of my mom reading the paper we would have never known. I had not seen the girl since she was a baby and she was 13 at the time and it was still catastrophic. Your story reminded me of this. It really makes us realize our own mortality.

Just found out that it was an aneurysm in his brain.
Still numb.
Teri,
I am so so sorry. Something like that is a huge shock.

One of my good friends from HS (and beyond) died of a reaction to medication when she was 23 years young.
