Another thread gave me this idea. Lets share stories from our kids that have melted our hearts. Those little amazing moments that brought us to tears or made us laugh. Maybe it was a story of when they finally did something you thought they would never do. They surprised you with some special ability. Or just were thier sweet loving selves.

I am loving this thread! I had too many "aawwww" moments to count (OK I probably could count them, but that would be geeky). So here is my Siobhan Story. Her stories are more mundane, I guess, apart from the shoplifting and religious identity stories; but that is not the theme here:

Yesterday, as we were leaving the mall, I adjusted a piece of Siobhan's hair, which had gotten stuck underneath her T-shirt. This was just as she was going through the automatic door. "Thank you" said she. "You're welcome" said I. "No. I was talking to the door" Ah. My polite little Miss thanks automatic doors when they open for her!

Thank goodness Zaphod Beeblebrox was nowhere in sight. (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy)

There are so many AWE stories. I am loving all of them.

Thought it might be time to add a Cait one. Like everyone said there are so many for all the kids but here is a recent one.

Miss Cait LOVES babies and animals. We have a new foster neice and she just turned 1. My bestfriend also has a baby who is 6 months. We have been working on her learning how to be helpful and caring for them. For a while she would forget about them, ya know not being particualrly responsible.

This last weekend we had a family gathering at the inlaws and Cait was the epitome of mothers helper. She would pick up and follow little Amari, who is recently walking, everywhere. Amari kept trying to play at the bottom of the slide all the boys were going down. Cait was so patient with her, just kept going back and picking her up and moving her.

One thing I have noticed about my aspies is that they have way more patience than the average bear. There are times like this that a NT kid would have given baby duty back to the parent and gone off with friends to play, but she just kept at it. Both her and Mike have the patience of Job and are more accepting with small children (except for dave that is) animals, and disabled folks. Amazing kids. Oh reminded meself of another story I have to share later.
