Dh and I are so proud of ourselves. We got Alex good yesterday!
His regular teacher was out all last week and he had a substitute; and no homework. Homework to Alex is the absolute WORST thing in the world.
Before church, I was upstairs with Alex. Dh called from his cell phone downstairs. With Alex right next to me, into the phone I said, "oh, hi Mrs. H.... hmmmm, I was wondering why there was no homework at all last week. Let me write this down... okay, he needs to do that 2-pg. book report, okay... 3 pages in his social studies book, okay... the 30 problems on page 250 of his math book. Okay, and he needs this done for school tomorrow? Okay, I'll let him know.. Have a good day, and we'll see you tomorrow."
Of course as soon as Alex was about to throw himself on the floor in a tantrum, I said "April Fools!!!".
Sounds like a horrible, horrible joke, but Alex thought it was SO funny and talked about it all day yesterday and how funny he thought it was.
Anyone else with a good April Fool's story?

LOL Laurie!
I can just picture his face!
I spent most of yesterday 'looking over there' (as in "Hey Mom! Look over there!") while somebody played some cornball 'April Fool' joke on me.
I did tell Siobhan that she was going to the sitter's this week, instead of soccer camp and home. But her face fell so fast, I called "April Fool" on it

Wow, that's funny! I couldn't possibly do something like that cause we'd have a nasty tantrum/meltdown and then we'd have a rotten day afterwards.
I had a lot of 'eww MOm, don't step on that cockroach' Nasty!

No actual "jokes", but Claire was trying her best! At one point she's sitting next to DH who's in bed reading and says, "There's a bug on your nose, your shoe is untied and you've got a hole in your pants." Then she laughed and say, "Of course there's no bug on your nose!"
Luckily I was right there to witness it, so DH and I had a great laugh!
