Our first night with melatonin

After reading everyone's posts about melatonin and how well it helps with sleeping issues I broke down and got some. I had to grind it up and put it in DS's juice or he would have thrown a fit (and he already had a haircut fit today--it is a cute haircut if I do say so myself). DD just put hers in her mouth and said "um, candy". She fell asleep almost immediately after she got into bed. DS took a bit more time but then went to sleep too.

I think the real test for us will be to see if they sleep through the night. I can't even say how much I am looking forward to a full night's sleep. I am almost giddy with the excitement of it.

Thanks for sharing all of your stories about melatonin and giving me the courage to try it.

Hi Heather....

I just want to say that melantonin helps with falling asleep, but everything I read, it doesn't help to keep them asleep.

BUT! It does seem to help with my oldest who is 11 and has never slept thru the night. He does now, and its been a blessing. Sometimes he comes in and wants to sleep with us, or goes downstairs, cuz we want to sleep but he can't. But most of the time he stays asleep.

He was my boy that would wake me up 3 times a night whether he was awake or sleep-walking... The sleep walking seemed to stop when he started taking this too.

So there is hope :)

For my younger one, it seems to not work so well, but its better than nothing...
