Stephanie (age 9) is seeing an occupational therapist for sensory issues. She sees her neurologist for epilepsy and whatever other help she needs. Neuro recommended psychiatrist for ADHD and fear issues so we saw her who recommended speech therapy, auditory processing testing, physical therapy and a psychologist for fears. Everyone we have seen so far has said she has multiple issues that can't be solved by just one of these professionals. We have been battled problems for a few years, but for some reason this all feels overwhelming. We are seeing everyone under the sun for all these multiple issues. I know there are others of you going through multiple problems as well. How do you all handle it? Does your child/children have many professionals helping? Is is helping? What is the hope? It is just so much to deal with, not to mention DH is working many hours and is kind of useless when he gets home and we are battling financial struggles, and issues with parents since we each lost a parent this year. I am feeling stress and depression. How do you get through it?
Thanks.
Debbie

Debbie,
Christina has given you some really excellent advice and I can't really add much more to it.

((((Christina)))) Thanks so much for your help. It sure helps when someone else understands, but I'm sorry you have so much on your plate as well. It gets so crazy doesn't it? I guess I have to think of it as that, making life interesting and wanting to get her the best help available.
I do get overwhelmed when I look at all of it and my blood pressure is going up so I need to focus on one thing at a time. The big thing is that our family needs some sort of vacation. We can't afford one, but we need a day off somewhere in here.
I have to see if there is anything I can do to put something on hold. I am also trying to help my mom out since my dad died and DH is helping his dad out since his mom died. We had two parent deaths this year which doesn't help and DH is frustrated with his job. Life goes on LOL.
Thanks Christina. Yes, she sure has. It is good to know I am not alone. It sure can get crazy.
Good advice about focusing on higher needs items. I will do that. Thanks again.
Debbie
