Nathan's hair has reached the point where I just had to intervene. So, I sat him in front of the the computer (distraction) and began to chop away.
I don't do precision work; I just want to see his eyebrows and ears, and the basic shape of his head (he is SOOOO cute it's unbelievable!) Well, there I was, snipping hair from around his left ear, snip, snip, *SNIP*. OMG!! That last snip felt *different*.
I snipped my sweet little boy's ear!!! He didn't flinch or utter a sound. I realized what I had done, and did a lot of apologizing while I grabbed a cloth, and he said, with tears in his eyes, "I'm all right." Then it began to hurt. Poor little guy. It wasn't a huge cut, but it was enough. There was plenty of blood, and I swear, I can still FEEL that *snip*. Ugh!
I hope I'll be able to cut his hair again someday, or he'll let a professional do it.

BTW know this doesn't REALLY make me a bad mommy. I'd be a bad mommy if I didn't care, or worse, if I did it on purpose.

His objection is that I'm coming near his ear. But aside from that, neither of my kids will let me put "stuff" on them.

Ze old "don't go near my ear" pl-oye...
How's about when he's sleeping?
Or a good old-fashioned bribe?
