Paula,
I stumbled across this tonight and of course thought of you. I have to say I was shocked because I don't remember you ever mentioning this before. I was doing a search for long term prognosis for people with AS(one of the other posts got me thinkin) and I went on wikipedia, in their epidemology section they talked about co-morbids and one was something called ligamentous laxity. I had never heard that before so I clicked on it and what comes up but Ehlers-danlos syndrome which I know you have. Did you know that people with AS are more at risk for that syndrome

Holy cow, what a coinkidink!
Teresa,
Good to see you back. I hope all is well with yourself, Himself, Jake and Ella.
I will try to 'splain this as best I know how:
Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS)is a genetic problem with collagen. Now there are over 100 kinds of collagen in the body and some collagen problems

Paula,
Thanks for the explanation, you'll be able to write a book about this when alls said and done! Things are grand here but soon will be hectic because I have 2 IEP's coming up and Jake transitions to the school district for kindergarten. I have to take Ella to the developmental ped to rule out Autism because we are seeing more "stuff" with her. It's hard to figure out whats what with her because of the CP but I have a feeling we are dealing with two seperate issues. Overall I guess I can't complain.
Teresa
P.S
Have you read
My DH has horrible case of eczema and so does my second (NT) son. Eczema has been believed as one of the auto-immune syndromes, where the over-reactive immune system attacks your own skin as if it were a foreign body. Some recent research now says that it may be due to the skin being too sensitive.
